Adani Energy Solutions Ltd. reported Q4 and FY25 updates, which included increased smart meter installations, better distribution efficiency, and a transmission order book worth ₹59,936 crore. Adani Electricity Mumbai reported an 8% YoY increase in units sold and more than 99.9% reliability. The percentage of renewable energy was 36% as of March 2025.
New Delhi, April 10 — Due to new order wins, Adani Energy Solutions Ltd. (AESL) announced on Thursday that its transmission network length increased by 30% to 26,696 circuit kilometers (ckm) at the end of the March quarter.
The company’s distribution utility in Mumbai, Adani Electricity Mumbai Ltd. (AEML), maintained its strong operational performance. In the fourth quarter, it maintained a high supply reliability of above 99.9%, guaranteeing its 3.18 million customers steady power delivery.
Total units sold by AEML rose 8% year-on-year, driven by higher demand in the residential and commercial segments, which offset a decline in the industrial sector.
Due to a strong emphasis on operational efficiency, distribution losses reduced dramatically to 4.31%, which is among the lowest in the nation. The use of e-payments grew as well, making up 83.20% of total receipts.
As of March 31, 2025, the percentage of renewable energy in AEML’s power mix has increased to 36%. By FY27, the corporation plans to use 60% renewable energy.
In the meantime, strong industrial and commercial demand drove a 35% year-over-year growth in units supplied to 253 million for Adani’s MPSEZ Utilities Limited (MUL) in Q4FY25.
With almost 31 lakh smart meters installed as of Q4FY25, AESL’s smart metering business is also expanding. In FY26, the business intends to build a further 60–70 lakh meters, increasing the total to about 1 crore. An estimated 97 million meters represent the unexplored market potential for smart metering.
Compared to the fourth quarter of the previous fiscal year, when it sold 2,226 million units (MUs), the company sold 2,413 MUs in Q4FY25.
