JioHotstar, a new streaming platform combining JioCinema and Disney+ Hotstar, is poised to deliver a wide range of entertainment and sports content to its audience.
On February 14, JioStar, a collaboration between Reliance Industries and the Walt Disney Company, unveiled its new streaming platform, JioHotstar, by integrating JioCinema and Disney+ Hotstar. The platform aims to revolutionize the subscription model by providing free access to the majority of its content for a set number of hours monthly, with the exception of Hollywood films.

Kevin Vaz, CEO of Entertainment at JioStar, confirmed that existing Disney+ Hotstar subscribers will experience no disruptions when transitioning to the new platform. Current subscription plans—Mobile (₹149), Super (₹299), and Premium (Ad-Free) (₹349) for three months—will remain unchanged for these users.

At the same time, JioCinema Premium subscribers will be transitioned to JioHotstar Premium for the remainder of their existing plans. Additionally, JioCinema users will be automatically upgraded to premium access. “Our pricing structure stays consistent—for instance, ₹149 for a quarterly mobile subscription and ₹499 for a quarterly ad-free experience,” Vaz explained.
