He has my FULL and UNDIVIDED ENDORSEMENT, will be an AMAZING governor of Ohio, and will never disappoint! Trump wrote
Separately, billionaire Elon Musk and President Donald Trump supported businessman Vivek Ramaswamy in Ohio’s governor contest on Monday.
Earlier on Monday, Ramaswamy, who faced Trump in the 2024 GOP presidential primary, declared his intention to run in the 2026 race to succeed term-limited Republican Governor Mike DeWine.
Trump posted on his social media account, Truth Social, to express his endorsement.
Trump wrote,
“He’s intelligent, strong, and young! He went on to say, “Vivek is a very good person who genuinely loves our country.” “He will be a GREAT Governor of Ohio, will never let you down, and has my COMPLETE AND TOTAL ENDORSEMENT!”
Shortly after, Musk, a top adviser to Trump, also extended an endorsement offer to Ramaswamy.
“Good luck, you have my full endorsement!” Musk wrote an article on X in response to Ramaswamy.
When Trump returned to the White House last month, Musk and Ramaswamy were originally supposed to head the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). However, as he got ready to start his campaign for governor, Ramaswamy left the newly established cost-cutting department, which was still headed by Musk, before Inauguration Day.
At a gathering in his hometown of Cincinnati on Monday, Ramaswamy formally announced his candidacy.
Ramaswamy assured the audience, “I will guide Ohio to become the state of excellence in America.”
“Do you think that’s unrealistic? “It’s not,” he stated. In actuality, Ohio was that state not too long ago. These days, young people use the phrase “that’s so Ohio” to mock something on the internet. However, less than a century ago, individuals were aiming to be Ohio rather than mocking it.
In order to support Trump and serve as a stand-in for the incumbent president, 39-year-old Ramaswamy withdrew from the 2024 Republican presidential primary.
