The ell-electric Harrier still looks almost the same as the regular Harrier, however it gets some EV-specific changes
Tata recently unveiled the Harrier EV during our tour of the company’s Pune production plant before to its introduction, following its appearance in the production-spec avatar. This time, a few acrobatics involving ramp-over and maneuvering tests were demonstrated by the all-electric Harrier inside the facility. Here are some real-world photos that show how the Harrier EV’s design is different from that of its standard diesel cousin.
Front Side
Although the designs of the two Harrier models are identical, the Harrier EV’s fascia stands apart thanks to a closed-off grille and a revised bumper with vertical slats, similar to the Tata Nexon EV’s. Conversely, the air dam and grille of the diesel-powered Harrier feature a chrome mesh pattern. On both variants, the other elements, such as the headlamp housings and attached LED DRLs, are identical.
Side
Although their windowlines are identical, the Harrier EV is identified as the electric variant by a unique “.EV” moniker on the front doors, while the diesel vehicle is badged as “HARRIER.”
Aerodynamically designed dual-tone alloy wheels are another feature of the all-electric Harrier, while the top-spec diesel Harrier is equipped with blacked-out 18-inch alloy wheels. The Harrier diesel’s Dark Edition comes with 19-inch black alloy wheels.
Rear
The Harrier.EV emblem on the tailgate makes it easy to identify the electric Harrier even though both SUVs have connected LED tail lights. Like the Nexon EV, the Harrier EV also has a revised rear bumper with vertical slats.
Interior
Even though Tata didn’t show us the Harrier EV’s interior during our manufacturing tour, we were able to see a preview of it at the Auto Expo 2025. Both SUV models have the identical dashboard layout, but the Harrier EV has a dual-tone grey and white color scheme instead of the standard Harrier’s variant-based color scheme.
Both come equipped with a 12.3-inch touchscreen and a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display. Features like a wireless charger, dual-zone air conditioning, and a panoramic sunroof that are available on the standard Harrier might also be borrowed by the Harrier EV. Additionally, the Harrier’s all-electric variant has a summon mode that lets users move the vehicle forward and backward with a key.
The Harrier EV is expected to have a 360-degree camera, level 2 advanced driver assistance systems, and up to seven airbags, among other safety measures. To differentiate itself from the conventional model, the Harrier EV is also expected to have a few more creature amenities.
Powertrain Details
That concludes our discussion of the design; let’s move on to other topics. Nevertheless, with a 500 km range on a single charge, the new Tata vehicle will be a beast. In addition, a dual-motor configuration will be available for the Harrier.ev, enabling AWD or what they refer to as QWD (Quad Wheel Drive). Although the power numbers have not yet been disclosed, we do know that the motor will exert over 500 Nm of torque and that it is anticipated to generate over 250 horsepower, making it one of the nation’s most potent SUVs!
Speaking of additional amenities, the package will include a panoramic sunroof, ADAS level 2, new alloy wheels, a new summon feature, and more. It is anticipated that the new model will be introduced by the first half of 2025.
