Vegetable Momos Recipe
Ingredients:
For the Dough:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour (maida)
- 1/2 tsp salt
- Water (as needed)
For the Filling:
- 1 cup finely chopped cabbage
- 1/2 cup grated carrots
- 1/2 cup finely chopped beans
- 1/2 cup finely chopped onions
- 2-3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1-inch ginger, minced
- 1-2 green chilies, finely chopped (optional)
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oil
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp vinegar (optional)
- Fresh coriander leaves, chopped (optional)

- Prepare the Dough:
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour and salt.
- Gradually add water and knead into a smooth, firm dough.
- Cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.
- Prepare the Filling:
- Heat oil in a pan and sauté garlic, ginger, and green chilies for a minute.
- Add onions and cook until translucent.
- Add cabbage, carrots, and beans. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until slightly tender but still crunchy.
- Add soy sauce, salt, black pepper, and vinegar. Mix well.
- Add coriander leaves (if using) and let the filling cool.Shape the Momos:
- Divide the dough into small balls and roll them into thin circles (3-4 inches in diameter).
- Place a spoonful of filling in the center of each circle.
- Fold and pleat the edges to seal the momo, forming a half-moon or round shape.Steam the Momos:
- Grease a steamer basket and place the momos in it, ensuring they don’t touch each other.
- Steam for 10-12 minutes until the momos are cooked and the dough becomes translucent.
- Serve:Serve hot with spicy chutney or dipping sauce.

Ingredients:
- 4-5 dried red chilies (soaked in warm water for 15 minutes)
- 2-3 garlic cloves
- 1-inch ginger
- 1 medium tomato, chopped
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1/2 tsp vinegar
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 tsp sugar (optional)
- Instructions:
- Blend the Ingredients:
- Drain the soaked red chilies and blend them with garlic, ginger, tomato, and water into a smooth paste.
- Cook the Chutney:

- Heat oil in a pan and add the blended paste.
- Cook on medium heat for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add vinegar, salt, and sugar. Mix well.
- Adjust consistency by adding water if needed.
- Serve:
- Let the chutney cool and serve with momos.
